LYMAN WHITAKER |

Even at an early age Lyman was involved in putting things together, such as designing and providing oversight in the building of the family hearth. His parents were very interested in arts and culture, and in that intellectual environment, he prospered. Lyman has over 40 years experience in sculpture. He graduated with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the University of Utah where he studied under Arvard Fairbanks and Angelo Carvaglia, learning classical sculpture techniques as well as contemporary design.
He continued in his studies by working with a variety of other creative thinkers over the years, and by taking on challenging projects that would force him to think in new ways. Lyman is always interested in creating opportunities to realize new work. Whether on his own or interacting with other artisans, there are always opportunities for input and exploration.
Lyman resides with his wife Stacy, and their two children in Southwest Utah. He loves the desert's solitude and the intensity of the climate. Lyman is a currently a member of Z-Arts!, the Zion Canyon Arts and Humanities Council, as well as Americans for the Arts Public Art Network. He has been involved with architectural controls in many communities, including Artspace Project in Salt Lake City.

Stacy's diverse background includes the travel industry, development of a mail order business, real estate development, higher education and arts administration. She graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's in Organizational Communications, emphasizing architectural photography, and went on with an interdisciplinary course of study towards a Master's in American Studies.
Her arts administration work began in development and promotion for the Bountiful Davis Art Center and included serving as Director of Public Relations for Park City's Kimball Art Center. After moving to Southern Utah in the mid-80's, she worked as a real estate broker and business manager with Kayenta, an artistic development project outside St. George.
Stacy married Lyman Whitaker in 1982, but waited 11 years before embarking on family life, which now includes Mirinda and Lorin. Currently Stacy oversees Whitaker Studio organizational processes, and strategizes new marketing techniques in tandem with fine art galleries around the country. She also oversees specialized commissions.
JOHN WHITAKER |

Hanging around an early mentor's Salt Lake City home-machine shop, John developed a real love for machinery and technology. In their home environment, John and Lyman were encouraged to creatively explore the world.
John has had a great deal of experience in construction, public works operations and management; in each job he gained responsibility as he systematized the work place. In Hawaii John held a variety of positions with Raytheon Corporation, including Manager of Information Systems. After ten years, he returned to Utah, where over coffee with Lyman and Stacy, a plan was hatched to expand Whitaker Studio. Marrying his many skills, John oversees the studio and has designed and built many of the proprietary tools used in the creative process.
John loves the open space of Southern Utah, where he lives with wife, Janet Brown, and their extended family of six. He has a new interest in building 'Big Cars', and crawling on rocks.
The receptivity to his work has allowed Lyman to create a wonderful studio with his partners, wife Stacy and brother John. Together over time they have created a productive art network. The diverse and excellent team at Whitaker Studio contributes ideas that continually open new doors.
